Abstract
This study examines trends in prayer within the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) between 2000 and 2024 and identifies the subfields and key dimensions of the concept of prayer. This research used bibliometric techniques and co-word analysis. 429 documents were extracted from the ISC database to identify trends in prayer-related research. Cluster analysis and strategic diagrams were employed to map the conceptual structure of the studies and identify subfields and their relationships. The findings indicate the existence of nine clusters in this field: Linguistic and stylistic studies of transmitted prayers (1); Anthropology and semantics of prayer (2); Mysticism and the literature of dhikr (remembrance) and supplication (3); Theology and philosophy of prayer and its fulfillment (4); Prayer therapy and spiritual well-being (5); Theoretical and practical mysticism (6); Philosophy and Transcendent Theosophy of prayer (7); Psychology and logotherapy of prayer (8); and Quranic and comparative studies of prayer in religions (9). Analysis of the articles identified emerging topics in prayer. The results can provide a comprehensive understanding of current research areas and guide researchers in launching new studies in the emerging fields that this research introduces.
